Properties And Applications

ENI 429 is a basic-coated electrode specifically developed for joining nickel-based alloys and similar materials designed to withstand high-temperature conditions. This electrode delivers excellent performance in welding heat-resistant austenitic materials and cast alloys. It is designed for use with nickel-based alloys such as 2.4663 (NiCr21Co12Mo), 2.4851 (NiCr23Fe), 1.4876 (X10 NiCrAlTi 32 20), and 1.4859 (GX 10 NiCrNb 32 20).The weld metal demonstrates outstanding performance under high-temperature conditions and is particularly suitable for service temperatures up to +1000°C. Additionally, it exhibits resistance to oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres at such temperatures, making it capable of resisting scaling up to +1100°C.ENI 429 provides excellent resistance to hot cracking, minimizing the risk of post-weld cracking. It is suitable for use in all welding positions and ensures a stable arc characteristic, producing a clean and smooth weld bead. Furthermore, its easily removable slag reduces labor time and enhances efficiency.This electrode is a reliable choice for welding industrial equipment operating under high-temperature and challenging environmental conditions, such as gas turbines and ethylene production plants. It is also widely used in chemical reactors and the petrochemical sector.Preheating before welding should be adjusted based on the base material type and thickness to reduce residual stress in the weld area and minimize the risk of cracking. Post-weld heat treatment requirements may vary depending on the application, but the weld metal of ENI 429 maintains high-temperature strength regardless of heat treatment.
